Father Simon was born in Chorley, where he received his early education at Sacred Heart Primary School and Holy Cross Secondary School. From there he went on to study at the University of Central Lancashire.


He trained for the priesthood at St Cuthbert’s Seminary, Ushaw College, Durham, during which time he studied for a degree in Theology at Durham University, and, later, his Masters Degree.


He was ordained deacon on 23rd June 2006, the Feast of the Sacred Heart, with his priestly ordination following on June 8th 2007.


He took up his first appointment as assistant priest, here, at St. Jude's, on 31st August 2007.
