The Legion of Mary – An Invitation

Currently we are few in number and any new members, male and female, are most welcome to join us. Our meetings take place in St. Jude’s Presbytery every Wednesday morning after 9.30 a.m. Mass and usually last just over an hour.

Our work consists of visiting the sick, the housebound, parishioners in hospital, those in sheltered accommodation and those Catholics in our Parish who are lapsed. Help is also given in the preparation of those who are about to be baptized. During May and October, we recite the Rosary each week in one of our parishioner’s homes, and, if requested, attend a Rosary for the bereaved. Also during the month of May we organize the public Rosary in Wigan Town Centre.

During the course of the year, we organize a three-day pilgrimage to Walsingham by coach. Also, we arrange a day retreat with either the Poor Clares at Hawarden or at Ladywell.

By our work and from these religious excursions we receive many graces and blessings, and our faith and spirit is renewed.

Please consider joining us in helping to make our Parish a caring, warm and welcoming community of faith.
