What are bishops?

Bishops are the direct successors of the Apostles. They have the task of teaching, sanctifying and ruling the members of the Church.

What are priests?

Priests are those men who are ordained to assist the bishops in teaching, sanctifying and ruling the members of the Church. Their main tasks are to offer the Sacrifice of the Mass, to administer the Sacraments and to proclaim the Gospel and preach the word of God.

What are deacons?

Deacons are those men, married or unmarried, who assist the bishops and priests. They assist at Mass, distribute Holy Communion, baptise, bless marriages, proclaim the Gospel and preach, preside over funerals and dedicate themselves to ministries of charity.
